I've Decided to Start Over, Halfway Through Revision Four.

105,000 words. Two and a half years. Twelve chapters. One inescapable problem.
There is terror in a blank page. Cursor blinking. Word count of zero. But for the first time in my life, I'm excited by the process. I spent the last two years building a world with histories, people, culture, and problems, and I don't regret a minute of it. But I realized, over the last three weeks, that my book lacks intentional plot.
So I'm starting over, in the same universe, writing a story that's intentional, This world is mine, and I know it so much better now. My characters need problems, and to have the worldbuilding done and dusted feels really wonderful.
If you're starting over, or starting a new manuscript, here's my advise: get words on the page. Do it with your eyes closed so you don't critique yourself. Starting is the hardest part. Trust me, I just did it.
Let's get writing, friends!
